I know, I know. Who needs advice on anything else to do when there are over 90 beaches to explore and the island’s notorious nightlife scene to conquer, right? Well, believe it or not, you will reach a point on your Ibiza holiday when you want to see just what else this island has on offer and that is where I come in.

Keeping in mind that Ibiza is a very seasonal island, you’ll find many establishments shut up shop and go into hibernation from November until May. While beaches, the old town and nature’s wonders are obviously free all year round, just keep in mind that the amenities that surround them may be few and far between.

You’ll find most places closed on Sundays, as the Spanish really respect their family time, so stick to the beaches then as the restaurants, bars and clubs there will always be open. Also, remember that siesta takes place between 2pm and 5pm, so it’s the perfect time to follow the locals' lead and indulge in a long lunch and a snooze – it’s one of my favourite, indulgent things about living here to tell you the truth.

If you really want to get out there and explore, I’d recommend hiring a car - reaching a lot of the island’s best attractions and beaches by public transport can (sadly) prove quite difficult, and taxis are sometimes few and far between in remote areas.

How I’ve picked my things to do:

I’ve heard Ibiza described as an oversized a theme park for adults and it’s not far from the truth. However, in saying that if you know where to look it’s also a great place for families and culture vultures too. Not that I’m bragging, but we’ve got multiple UNESCO World Heritage Listed Sites to boast about, you know…

I’ve balanced out my selection to include some of the island’s historical and cultural standouts alongside fun activities for families, mystical and legendary destinations (I’ll let you be the judge as to their claims!), some of nature's most breathtaking sights and some longstanding Ibiza rites of passages. Many of them are free too.

I’ve also included a selection of my very favourite beaches to try and make your choice easier, from hard-to-find “secret” coves (but shhh, please keep it between us!) and rustic, bohemian escapes to the glitziest, flashiest, most famous beaches of the island. I think there’s something there for all tastes, ages and budgets, and I’ve been known to enjoy them all so don’t feel limited!

What I haven’t included in this section however, is Ibiza’s famous nightclubs, although each one of them could be seen as an attraction in its own right. You’ll find them covered in the Ibiza nightlife section, where they rightly belong!
