Best for Posing - Expert review of Distillery District

Former Victorian Distillery-turned arts and restaurants complex

Opened as a distillery in 1859, today this area is a cool cobbled complex of 47 Victorian Industrial buildings that now house restaurants, artisans' studios, design stores, a couple of cafes and a theatre. My favourite stops are Soma chocolate shop and Balzac Coffee - the interior is atmospheric and the coffee is perfect.

Price advice:

Restaurants (and everything else) are a wee bit pricier down here - try Mill Street Brewpub for better deals and great local beer.

Expert tips:
It gets quiet outside the gates at night, but taxis are usually easy to find.
