Best for Families - Expert review of Singapore Botanic Gardens
The Botanic Gardens was founded in 1859, and has since evolved into a leading equatorial botanic garden of 63 hectares, with a wonderful plant collection of worldwide significance. You will find the world’s largest display of orchids here, with more than 1,000 species and 2,000 hybrids now found in the Orchard Gardens' collection, with about 600 species and hybrids on display. Every year, more vibrant hybrids are added (if that’s possible!). It’s hard to believe this beautiful flowering oasis is just a short 10-minute walk from the hustle and bustle of Orchard Road.
Admission is free to the main gardens, but if you want to go to the Orchard Gardens, it’s $5 for adults and $1 for children and pensioners, while children below 12 years go free.
