Best for Culture - Expert review of Museum of Fine Arts
For the art lover, the Museum of Fine Arts in the Plaza del Museo is an obvious first port of call. Its collection of Spanish paintings of the last six centuries, including works by such masters as Velázquez, Murillo, Ribera, El Greco, Zurbarán and Valdés Leal, is one of the most important in the world. I particularly like the way the arrangement of the galleries around the three interior patios of the 17th century convent building allows you to take a kind of journey through time and see the development of the different artistic styles. Afterwards you can refresh yourself in the café or browse in the museum shop.
