Best for Fun - Expert review of Isla Magica

All the fun of the fair in Spain's golden age of travel and discovery.

Well, okay, it's not really the 16th century, but it's a theme that gives plenty of scope for fun water rides (great for cooling off in summer), roller coasters and pirate shows. Built in 1997 on part of the site of Expo '92, the park is organised in seven sections around a large central lake, giving a very pleasant ambience. It can get crowded, particularly for the major rides, but in general waiting times are short, and prices for food and drink are reasonable. There is a section of rides for younger children, and at night the park comes to life with fountains, light shows and fireworks.

Price advice:

Full day 28 euros adult, 20 euros children, 18 euros concessions. Half day and evening only tickets also available.

Expert tips:
Bring a change of clothes for the water rides.
Take advantage of the reduced prices for afternooons and nights.
