The newest and most stunning of the city's many art galleries.
Designed by Herzog, de Meuron and Gutiérrez and opened in 2008, the T.E.A is a striking work of art in its own right and my favourite gallery.
Two geometrically shaped buildings with some 1200 windows in all, converge at a central courtyard to provide spaces flooded with light and air. The permanent collection features much of the work of local surrealist Oscar Dominguez, as well as pieces by such luminaries as Henry Moore. Temporary exhibitions on canvas and film cover the masters to contemporary. The website has full details.

Entrance is 5 euros.
Expert tips:
The small cinema shows movies in their original language with Spanish subtitles for just 4 euros. I saw Quentin Tarantino's 'Inglourious Basterds' there as a new release.
Having an overpriced coffee in the stylish cafe is worth it for the venue.
