Expert review of Go Ape

Monkey business in the forest canopy.

Both Grizedale and Whinlatter boast Go Ape courses of rope ladders, platforms and zip slides.

If you fancy the idea of flying 200me across the top of the Grizedale Beck and marveling at the forest canopy 18m up a Douglas Fir, then this is the best adrenaline rush in the Lakes.

Price advice:

Gorillas (adults) £25; baboons (ages 10-17) £20.

Expert tips:
Each participant is fitted with a harness and given safety instruction before starting the two-hour high-wire course, but the instructor does not accompany you round the course. It's not the easilt scared.
There's a minimum age restriction of 10 years, a minimum height restriction of 1.40m and all under juniors under 18 years of age must be supervised by a participating adult.
No open-toed or slip-on footwear. The management recommend ankle-supporting boots. Bring gloves too.
