A train ride along the coast.
The FGV is a narrow-guage train that runs along the coast from Denia to Alicante (although you have to change at Benidorm to do the whole route). It is a lovely way to see a large part of the twisting Costa Blanca coastline, its tiny coves and small villages – some of the stops are little more than a bench to sit on. The train gives you a chance to visit most of the other resorts that have made the region so popular; Benidorm, Altea, Calpe etc, as well as the two terminal cities. The ride to Alicante is about two hours (fifty minutes to Benidorm), and twenty-five minutes to Dénia.
Price advice:
Ask for an 'ida y vuelta', a return ticket.
Expert tips:
You need to take a local bus from Moraira to Teulada to pick up the train, about ten fifteen minutes ride.
