Best for Chilling out - Expert review of QC Terme Milano

Take the plunge and get hot and steamy in this Milan spa.

Milan has many spas to choose from – this is fashion heaven and the body beautiful is where it’s at. QC Terme Milan is not the most luxurious, the most fashionable, or the most happening of them but, if you want to spend a day chilling out and having fun at a relatively affordable price, then this is the place to go. For a start, it has a garden, with three outdoor pools and 10 indoor pools, with Jacuzzis and saunas and steam rooms so the day rate gets you plenty of entertainment before you even start piling on the euros paying for treatments.

With 16th-century walls built by Ferrante Gonzaga, a Spanish garden and a beautifully restored Art Deco building (known locally as Liberty) that has previously done duty as a tram station and a disco, the treatments are centred around the four elements – water, earth, wind and fire.

Between massages and scrubs or dips into the pool, there are tempting buffets of fresh fruit, cheese and juice to keep you going. A perfect way to spend a lazy day.

Price advice:

Prices start from 40 euros for a full day with use of the various pools, plus extra for treatments.

Expert tips:
You can get discounted entry (30 euros) if you are prepared to go in from 12.30pm-3pm Mon-Fri.
