Best for Culture - Expert review of Picasso Museum

A world-class museum celebrating the city’s most famous son.

I’ve been back to Museo Picasso many times since the King and Queen of Spain inaugurated it back in 2003 - as there are continually changing exhibitions of the master artist’s pictures, drawings, sculptures and ceramics. The wonderfully-restored 16th-century mansion in the heart of the historic centre is the perfect backdrop to the collections, most of which were donated by Picasso’s family.

Price advice:

It’s free for under 18s and students (with ID) up to the age of 26. A combined ticket (collections and exhibitions) is 8 euros for adults.

Expert tips:
There can sometimes be a bit of queue in the summer, but it’s quieter in the afternoons.
Nip around the corner to Plaza de la Merced to visit Picasso’s birthplace and home.
