Best for Romance - Expert review of Jardín de la Concepción
Beautiful, subtropical botanical gardens with views across the city.
In my opinion, this is one of Europe’s most amazing gardens – and one of the continent's best kept secrets. Established in the mid 19th century by the granddaughter of a British consul, the 250,000 square metre gardens, set in the peaks above Malaga, contain 3,000 plants and trees, glass pavilions, streams, and ornamental fountains. The centuries-old trees provide some much needed shade in the heat of the Spanish summer.
Price advice:
A stroll around is free, although it relies on donations to keep going. You may like to offer something at the end of your stay.
Expert tips:
Take a guided tour to get the best out of the gardens.
