Expert review of Circulo de Bellas Artes

Lively cultural centre in landmark building

It is always worth looking in at the Circulo de Bellas Artes, or Fine Arts Circle, to see what's going on. There are usually three or four exhibitions, as well as film, theatre, talks and concerts.

The building, which was designed by Antonio Palacios in 1920, looks like several different structures piled one on top of the other. Go up to the roof for superb views across the city, then have a drink in the huge cafe on the ground floor, or out on the terrace.

Price advice:

1 euro admission fee.

Expert tips:
There is free wifi in the cafe
