Expert review of Dolphin watching

One of the best places in the world to see dolphins and whales in their natural habitat.

Protected from trade winds by the leeward shelter of the cliffs, the warm waters off Los Gigantes attract a host of marine life. Microscopic animals and plants breed in profusion, serving as food for 28 species of pilot whales and dolphins that either reside in the waters or pass through on migratory routes.

Trips leave Los Gigantes marina daily and sightings are almost guaranteed.

Price advice:

Trips are around 15 euros for 1hr 30 mins and 25 euros for two hours.

Expert tips:
Choose boats which fly the yellow 'barco azul' flag which shows they comply with whale and dolphin watching regulations.
Recommended boats to go with are Freebird Sailing, Royal Delfin, Katrin, Nashira Uno, Son Caliu and Ocean Explorer.
