Experience panoramic views of Lisbon's skyline from a 45m-high wrought-iron elevator.

Designed and built by Eiffel pupil Raul Mesnier de Ponsard in 1901, the lift zips you out of the city-centre hive and into the clouds. At the top is a small cafe with stellar views across the city's rooftops.

Price advice: 

Entry is 2.70 euros.

Expert tips: 
Early morning and sunset are the best times to go for the best views and smaller queues.
Pickpockets operate here, especially at peak times.
