Expert review of Atomic Testing Museum

An unexpected history lesson just off the Strip.

Whenever anyone visiting tells me that Vegas has no substance, this is where I wheel them. Nevada used to conduct atomic bomb tests (the museum even has old adverts enticing tourists along to watch them with a packed lunch) and the museum goes into a thorough history of the atomic movement in general, and the Nevada Test Site in particular. It's not the most unbiased of museums when it comes to covering Cold War propaganda, but take it with a pinch of salt and you'll find it incredibly interesting. Antidotes to Vegas don't come much stronger than this.

Price advice:

 US$12, or $9 for children.
