Carpe Diem Beach

Hvar’s top daytime party spot, Carpe Diem is a chi-chi beach club in Stipanska, a rocky cove backed by dense pinewoods on Marinkovac, one of the 20 scattered Pakleni islets. Opened in summer 2008, it combines two pebble beaches with teak sun beds and palm-thatched parasols, a turquoise pool with a wooden deck, a lounge-bar serving great cocktails and a restaurant. There’s also a beach volley court, and a massage pavilion offering wholesome treatments such as seaweed wraps and lemon-lavender skin scrubs. You get mellow lounge music during the day, plus (August only) after-dark parties with foreign guest DJ’s playing electronic dance music. To get there, take a 10-minute taxi-boat ride from Hvar Town’s harbour, close to Hotel Riva.
