Expert review of Hong Kong Wetland Park

For Asia's avian population, this is as important a hub as Chek Lap Kok.

Anywhere else in the world, this wetland park would be remarkable; in Hong Kong it's stupendous.

Some 60 hectares are given over to a wetland reserve, a prime staging point for numerous migrating species, and there is also a brilliantly designed visitor centre. The whole place is very much hands (and eyes) on, and run by dedicated staff who so obviously relish their role.

Expert tips:
Mosquito repellent is worth its weight in gold.
