Expert review of The Tall Ship at Glasgow Harbour

Life on the ocean waves with Glasgow’s last Clydebuilt sailing vessel.

The kids will love this genuine model of maritime history. This is the last of only five still afloat in the world available for restoration, so why not climb the rigging and dream of the world’s great sailors – surely Captain Pugwash and Captain Haddock? Not only did Glenlee circumnavigate the globe four times but she rounded the fearsome Cape Horn on 15 voyages. From the safety of Glasgow’s Finnieston Quay, life on the ocean waves never was so easy. Rather randomly, the boat is rented out for events and functions after hours: I spent my graduation sipping champagne from the top deck. Avast ye landlubbers etc.

Price advice:

Admission Prices: adult £5.95, concessions £4.65, one child goes free with each paying visitor. Additional Children £3.

Expert tips:
It’s worth checking out the temporary exhibitions.
Check visiting hours in advance as the Tall Ship was closed for renovation during summer 2010.
