Best for Families - Expert review of Glasgow Science Centre

Glasgow’s family favourite, this is a cavalcade of interactive science and space exploration.

My friends’ children love this place. Chock-full of science shows, workshops and hands-on technology displays, the Science Centre is easily the best family attraction in the city. With three floors of educational exhibits, an intriguing planetarium – my favourite section – and a host of games and activities suitable for everyone from pre-schoolers through to high school science students, it’s a great day out. Despite favouring the magnetic forces trail, I still don’t understand the science behind it all.

Price advice:

Science Mall ticket price:  adult £9.95,  child/concessions £7.95.
Add On's to planetarium, Glasgow Tower or IMAX science film £2.50 each
IMAX Feature Films: adult £8.95, child/concessions £6.95.

Vouchers giving £1 off admission can be downloaded from

Expert tips:
The IMAX next door is the biggest cinema screen in the whole of Scotland.
The Science Centre is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays during the winter.
For architecture buffs, the building’s crescent moon glass wall is widely recognised as one of the city’s best.
