Expert review of Museum of Childhood
There are four floors of kids stuff for kids of all ages and it's free: a great way to spend an hour.
The word museum can conjure up the idea of dusty, grey and boring, happily none of those apply to this jewel in the Edinburgh museum crown. Understated, it looks small on the outside but inside lies a literal treasure trove of all the things you will remember from childhood - and some you had completely forgotten. Happy days.
Young kids love it too with lots of train sets, car, dolls, board games, puppets and stuff to play around with. It's fun to watch them marvel at what us oldies used to enjoy playing with before the PS3 was invented. There are lots of photo opportunities and fun to be had.
