Expert review of Sega Republic

An enormous indoor themepark for that inner child in everyone.

It may seem slightly strange including what is basically a rather grand arcade as an attraction, but Sega Republic really is something else. Found on the second floor of the already massive Dubai Mall, Sega Republic is an indoor themepark like no other. Set on two floors, this 76,000 square-foot space features nine heart-in-mouth rides and over 200 of the latest video games (good ones, we're not talking Donkey Kong here). While it may be aimed at kids (and is a great place to dump your spawn for an hour or two if you want to hit the shops), there's no reason you can't release your inner child here. Just be prepared to be shot by 3D zombies, or worse, have a nine-year-old pummel you at miniature basketball.

Price advice:

You can pay for each ride individually, but this works out rather expensive. A better option is the Power Pass, which gives you a day's use of the rides (not video games) for 140 dirhams. There's also the Platinum Power Pass for 220 dirhams, which adds on 200 dirhams credit for video games.

Expert tips:
There's not a great deal in the way of food available inside, so you might want to eat first.
