Jumeirah Beach Park

Many of Dubai's hotels come with their own stretch of private sand, but if you're not blessed with a beachside resort, you'll have to find a more public affair. Among the best of the bunch is the Jumeirah Beach Park, a huge expanse of gorgeous sand with a few patches of greenery thrown in for size too. Aside from the beach, there's also picnic tables, a barbecue area, plus small play areas for children, volleyball courts and showers. The water is extremely inviting (especially in the summer, if you prefer it as warm as a bath), and - while busy - the sand is immaculate. Grab a sunbed and settle down with a good book for the day. Oh, and remember the sun cream.
