Expert review of Big Bus Tour

Take an open-topped bus tour and see all of Dubai's major attractions in just one day.

If you're strapped for time or enjoy ticking off boxes in a day, one of the best ways to see Dubai is via the Big Bus Tour, an open-topped double decker which covers pretty much all the major landmarks and offers a hop-on, hop-off facility at 20 locations should you fancy stretching your legs and taking a closer look. Obvious sights, such as the Burj Al Arab, Burj Khalifa and Atlantis hotel are covered, plus some highly recommended spots, including the gold and spice souks and the Dubai Creek. There's live commentary (in a variety of languages) on board, plus some air-conditioning should it be too sticky for the open-top deck. For something a little different (and cooler) take the night option, a two-hour citywide tour which starts from either 7.30pm at the Deira City Centre Mall or 8.30pm at the Souk Madinat Jumeirah.

Thankfully, the days of jaw-dropping traffic jams in Dubai are a thing of the past.

Price advice:

A Day Tour ticket, valid for 24 hours, costs 220 dirhams for adults and 99 dirhams for children under 16. The Night Tour ticket costs 125 dirhams for adults and 73 dirhams for children under 16. Tickets can be bought on board, and on the website.

Expert tips:
This is a great way to see the sights in one day.
Best during winter months when you can sit on the top deck.
