Discovering Dénia’s undersea world.
Sub-aqua diving has always been popular in the Mediterranean, not just for the warmth of its waters but for the wonderful divergence of its flora and fauna. Dénia was the first resort on the Costa Blanca to establish way-marked underwater routes, in the same way as walking routes are marked on dry land. They have developed a number of itineraries of various levels, some of which are accessible direct from land and others that need a boat to get to them. As well as caves and coves you can also explore Felguera, (known locally as ‘El Vaporet’), a ship of approximately forty-five feet that sunk in the late nineteenth century.
