Expert review of Vor Frelsers Kirke

A landmark Copenhagen church with a crazy spiralling spire.

The grand Baroque interior of this 17th-century church is well worth a visit but the star attraction for many will be the spire, the outside of which you can scale right to its dizzying, narrow summit where the steps finally disappear right at the top. You'll experience some amazing city views.

It's great to sit in the cool calm interior. If you want to see and hear the rather grand organ in action, it is played during services.

Expert tips:
Scale the spire to its dizzying summit.
Take time to explore the grand Baroque interior.
