Expert review of Statens Museum for Kunst

A royal collection at Copenhagen's fine art museum.

For those interested in art, this huge art museum repays repeat visits as it covers seven centuries of art. The Dutch and Flemish masters' collections, including work by Rubens and Frans Hals, and the modern European collection, including art from Picasso and Matisse, are strong. There's also an extensive collection of Scandinavian and Danish painters including Jens Juel. You'll also find work from Degas and Lautrec.

Expert tips:
Check the programme for special events, especially children's activities.
