Expert review of Rundetårn

Climb the spiral passage for great views of Copenhagen.

This venerable 17th-century brick tower was built for King Christian IV as an observatory, claimed as Europe's oldest. If you feel up to tackling the shallow but lengthy climb up the inside spiral ramp, it's a great place to get views over the city roofs and spires, as well as for the changing calendar of art exhibitions in the hall halfway up.

Price advice:

It's 25 krone for adults, 5 krone for children.

Expert tips:
Check to see if the observatory is open - you might see live images of the sun. Awe-inspiring.
Take a break from your climb to the top by checking out the art exhibitions halfway up.
