Best for Chilling out - Expert review of Guincho Beach

This raw Atlantic-bashed beach is great for watersports.

Certainly the best of the area's more accessible beaches, this yawning and wild stretch is frequented, year-round, by Lisbon's windsurfers, kitesurfers and surfers. Packed in the summer with day-trippers, the beach also makes for stunning Atlantic-sprayed walks in the winter months.

Expert tips: 
I like to take one of the free bikes found outside Cascais train station for the 5 km journey to the beach.
