Chapter Arts Centre

While Wales Millennium Centre takes centre stage as Cardiff’s most striking arts centre, Chapter is its cool understated cultural forefather. Its seeds were sewn over 40 years ago, the venue establishing its progressive roots instantly with a Pink Floyd concert, held just down the road in Sophia Gardens.

An old school house with a glistening glass facade, Chapter is home to two small cinemas, two theatres, gallery spaces, bars and workspaces for the city’s burgeoning artists. Their choice of independent international films is as wisely curated as their range of local ales, and the displays, features and community projects ensure the venue is never the same place twice.
