Expert review of Cardiff Bay Water Activity Centre

A one-stop-shop for all things water bound.

There are 16 different activities in store at this splash-fest. Take your pick from windsurfing, powerboating, rowing, sculling, raft-building or yachting. Meanwhile landlubbers will enjoy the archery, climbing wall, fishing or trail bike rides that stretch along the picturesque Taff Trail.

This isn’t the type of centre you just chance upon. The Cardiff Bay Water Activity Centre are serious about their sports and many of the activities are course-based so this would be a more appropriate visit for a longer stay or those already familiar with the sport. That said, it’s a great day out for groups of friends who want to share their trust in each other as they sail the Severn seas in a bell boat or dinghy.

The centre’s position directly opposite the barrage is ideal. The winding river Taff stretches to the north and the vast open bay area to the south; it’s yet another reason to spend time in the city’s beautiful bay area.

Price advice:

Prices range depending on activity.

Expert tips:
The centre’s sailing school is directly opposite on the other side of the water, so check the directions on their website before you set sail for the centre.
Take a packed lunch, there is no eating facility on site.
