Expert review of Boulders African Penguin Colony
It’s a scenic drive down to Simonstown, a village steeped in history and one that wears its naval base badge with pride. Drive through the village and, just as you exit the town, you’ll see the signs for Boulders Beach. Named after the giant boulders that dot the shallows - this secluded spot is a boon for those who love the thought of spending a quiet morning or afternoon on the beach. The real stars of the show, though, are the African penguins. They were brought here in a bid to help generate a colony of these endangered birds and the tuxedoed creatures offer entertainment and picture-perfect moments with their amusing waddles and antics.
Adults 35 rand, children 10 rand.
