Expert review of Platja de Llafranc
If beaches could be celebrities, Llafranc would definitely be one of the Costa Brava’s A-listers. This medium sized, crescent-shaped, sandy beach is one of the most chi-chi resorts on the Costa and backs onto a genteel, tree-lined promenade of low-rise, whitewashed hotels, restaurants and cafés. There’s also a small harbour at the far end which is home to the well-heeled locals and visitors’ yachts. It doesn’t however feel either stuffy or flashy – the vibe here is more about comfort and good taste rather than flamboyant glitz. It does mean though that there’s an unusually high proportion of classy and very good restaurants nearby. There are also boats and kayaks for rent – great for exploring the caves and coves nearby, as well as diving and snorkelling.
