Expert review of El Golfet
Gorgeous, picture postcard cove near Calella. A honeymooner’s paradise.
This is one of my favourite coves on the Costa Brava. It’s tiny, secluded and wonderfully romantic with a short crescent of sand nestling between tall pines and jagged granite coloured rocks sheltering you on either side like blinkers from the outside world. The sea is a crystalline turquoise (great for snorkelling) with a shallow bed of dark rocks at the shoreline. The only way to get there is either by boat or on foot down a steep, winding flight of steps about 15 minutes walk along the coast from Calella de Palafrugell.
Expert tips:
The water here is safe for swimming and ideal for scuba diving.
The Cap Roig Botanical Gardens are just above and overlook this cove so they're a great place to visit either before or after the beach.
