Expert review of Musée Magritte
World’s most extensive collection of René Magritte art.
Only open since 2009, Musée Magritte pays homage to the prolific Belgian Surrealist artist, René Magritte. It draws together works belonging to the Musées Royaux des Beaux-Arts and items donated by his wife Georgette to create the world’s most comprehensive collection of his oil paintings, drawings, sculptures, films and photographs. Don’t miss it!
Price advice:
Adults 8 euros; children free; audio guide 4 euros. Free entry with Brussels card (see Brussels insider tips).
Expert tips:
Because it’s new, this museum is incredibly popular. To save yourself shuffling around the exhibits with the rest of the crowds, try and visit first thing in the morning or late in the afternoon.
You can visit the museum for free every first Wednesday of the month between 1pm—5pm.
