Expert review of Vidova Gora
If you are staying on Brač and enjoy hiking, be sure to set aside one day for exploring Vidova Gora. At 778 m above sea level, it’s the highest peak on all the Dalmatian islands. At the top there’s a stone terrace with outdoor tables and an informal eatery serving local janjetina (roast lamb). From here, you get fantastic views down onto Bol’s vineyards and Zlatni Rat beach, and out to sea to the islands of Hvar, Vis and Korčula. On very clear days you can even see Italy’s Appennini mountains. From the top, a clearly marked mountain path zig-zags its way down the Bol. If you just want to come for the view, enquire at Bol tourist office for information about organized minibus tours. Note that in winter Vidova Gora is sometimes snow-covered.
