Expert review of The World of Beatrix Potter
Miss Potter's characters come alive.
If Peter Rabbit, Mrs Tiggy-Winkle and Jemima Puddle-Duck are you family's favourite storybook characters, then this quirky attraction will really bring them to life.
It's a bit saccharine for everyone's tastes but great for kids learning to read the stories.
The attraction marks its 20th anniversary in 2011 with an extensive programme of events – check the website link above for details.
Price advice:
General admission is £6.75; children £3.50.
If you're likley to be a repeat visitor, then ask about a Freedom Pass: family entry for one year, special offers and membership activities for £30.00.
Expert tips:
This place is a Mecca for coach parties, so best visit early morning or late afternoon to avoid the worst of the queues.
The gift shop is a scrum, so head to the new Peter Rabbit Garden, complete with garden trails and puzzles for kids, for an oasis away from the hordes.
International visitors should ask for a headset with simultaneous translations in French, Japanese, Dutch and Chinese.
