If there’s one thing you do during a holiday in Benidorm, it simply must be a visit to Benidorm Palace. Showgirls in high-plumed hats, young chaps flinging themselves into flamenco, circulating table magicians, jugglers, tumblers, comic performers of all kinds, this is a wonderful cabaret show the type of which is now, sadly, no longer seen in the UK – or almost anywhere else, for that matter. And you have the option of a five-course meal with cava and wine. ‘I have been to the Moulin Rouge but Benidorm Palace in my opinion leaves it standing. Moulin Rouge - eat your heart out!’ says one quote on Tripadvisor. In a big top behind the main building the Palace presents a circus every Sunday at 6 pm.
