Where to shop in Korcula

If you're staying in self-catering accommodation in Korčula Town, you'll find a Konzum supermarket and a handful of stalls selling fresh fruit and vegetables just outside the medieval town walls. You should also call in at Cukarin (Hrvatska Bratske Zajednice; + 385 20 711055; www.cukarin.hr ), a family-run store selling delicious homemade biscuits, unique to the island.

For gifts, track down Aromatica (Ulica Depola 96; + 385 20-711900; www.aromatica.hr) in the old town, where you can buy beautifully packaged environmentally-friendly soap, shampoos and massage oils made from local aromatic herbs. And if you make it over to Pelješac peninsular for a wine tasting tour, be sure to pick up a few bottles from Vinarija Bartulović (Prizdrina; + 385 20 742346; www.vinarijabartulovic.hr).
