This is a summary score based on a combination of factors, including the quality and quantity of guides written by the individual concerned, and the guide ratings.

Guide Rating

This is the average score of all reader ratings given to a particular guide.

Most Recent, Most Viewed & Top Rated

To rank guides under these headings, Simonseeks uses weighted averages. Various filters are applied to the raw data in order to eliminate and reduce attempts at 'vote stuffing' by individuals more interested in changing the current position of a guide than giving their true opinion of it.

This may mean in some circumstances that a guide with a lower rating appears above another with a higher rating. This is because the guide rating is based on raw averages for that guide and does not take in to account any other factors, quality, quantity, number of reviews etc.

The exact methods and filters we use to adjust these rankings will not be disclosed. This should ensure that the policy remains effective and the results are more accurate.
