Delicious fruity flavours in this hard-to-find gelateria not far from San Marco.

Venice is awash with gelaterie (ice cream shops) but few match up to this outlet near Campo Sant’Angelo where the delicious creamy goodies are whipped up on the premises.

Food and drink: 

All Igloo’s many flavours are delicious but the fruity summer ones – made with fresh produce from the Rialto market – are particularly good. I love the fig in particular.

Ambience: 

Happy punters slurping ice cream. This is a take-away only venue.

Service: 

Efficient.

Location: 

No distance at all from Piazza San Marco but not easy to locate, in the maze of streets south of the main drag between Campo Manin and Campo Sant’Angelo.

Price advice: 

Cones or cups start at 1.30 euros for one scoop and go up to 4 euros for five.
