Best for Outdoor dining - Expert review of Tati Bistro

Classic French Bistro on Harbord Strip.

Wonderful French cuisine and the city's best hidden patio, courtesy of the same people who own Chabichou cheese shop and deli further along the street. The back patio is upstairs and shaded by a huge old tree. It's perfect for a Sunday brunch or an early evening romantic dinner.

Food and drink:

Great wine selection and finely executed selection of French classics.

Recommended dishes:

The fennel and Pernod-infused bouillabaisse, boudin noir sausage, steak frites.

Ambience:

Fairly authentic, cute French bistro ambience in the house, can be noisy when busy. The back patio is a delicious spot for an evening.

Service:

Not always great. Another one not to go in a hurry or with any urgent bokings afterwards. Service is slow and sometimes understaffed.

Location:

Harbord restaurant strip, just off Spadina, near U of T.

Tables to book:

The upstairs back patio!

Other useful branches:

The owners also own and run Chabichoue cheese store and deli, along the stret.
