Best for Families - Expert review of Sunnyside Pavilion Cafe
Located in a bathing pavilion that dates back to 1932, the gorgeous Sunnyside Pavilion is host to art shows, weddings and other celebrations all summer long. The cafe is right on the boardwalk, looking out over the lake and east to the city skyline.
A decent California-Italian menu of burgers, salads, steaks, pizzas and BBQ ribs.
I like the summery salads, like the one with strawberries and pecans.
Relaxed, like Coney Island/Atlantic City of Toronto.
The staff aren't chosen for their charm, but get the food to the table. Just don't expect too much from them and keep your eyes on the views.
Right beside Sunnyside beach, the outdoor swimming pool and on the walking/biking/blading trails that skirts the hem of the lake. You're really here for the views, the food is further down the list. If on transit, you can get the Queen streetcar to Roncesvalles and walk along the lake till you get here.
Drinks and coffees are at the expensive end of the Toronto pricing spectrum, but the food is actually priced reasonably.
