Expert review of Annona

Refined room in elegant hotel.

With a carefully chosen palette of international influences and locally sourced ingredients, Annona creates a confident array of exquisite dishes.

Recommended dishes:

You really can't go wrong here, whether you order the fluffy eggs at breakfast or have a four course dinner at night. Particular highlights for me would have to be the shrimp, squash and manchego empanada and the grilled seafood (with shrimp, salmon, tuna and lobster ravioli.)

Ambience:

It's a good special occasion restaurant — you'll see plenty of mums having birthdays and couples celebrating — but it's also great when you just want to spoil yourself and be sure that the food is going to be topnotch.

Service:

Perfect, utterly impeccable every time. Staff are there when you want them, but seem to dematerialise whenever you want privacy.

Location:

On the corner of Bloor and Avenue, in the heart of Yorkville.

Price advice:

Expensive, but worth it. Check for fixed price specials, they can be a great deal.

Tables to book:

The patio (only open in summer) is the hot choice. Ask for a table out there when you book (once you've checked the weather forecast..)
