Expert review of Krish
Krish serves South Asian influenced contemporary cuisine. I just love the setting – having dinner in a converted colonial house surrounded by lush palm trees and nearby jungle.
I was a little skeptical about the roasted eggplant samosas for starters, but they were surprisingly tasty. I then had the papadum crusted snapper with potato puree, set off perfectly with a mint-coriander emulsion. The herb crusted Korabuta pork chop with tamarind risotto is a must try. I’m also a big fan of the warm chocolate mousse with vanilla sauce, deliciously decadent and too good to share.
The vibe here is colonial elegance. The restaurant occupies a beautifully restored, two-storey black and white house with manicured lawns and a patio bar area surrounded by lush green vegetation.
Waiters were polite and efficient, our wine was always topped up. I like a waiter who can make a good recommendation too, and my snapper lived up to my expectations.
Krish is situated in the Rochester Park enclave on the western side of the island, home to an array of hip contemporary restaurants and bars. Nearest MRT is Buona Vista, but it’s easier to catch a taxi.
Entres are around the $20 mark, while the mains can cost between $30-45. Thought Korabuta pork chop is good, it’s a little pricey at $48.
