Expert review of Las Golondrinas

A lively “trianero” atmosphere and the very best radishes in town (seriously).

Paco Arcas, ex-mayor of Triana, started the first Las Golondrinas, now run by his sons, more than 30 years ago. This second location, just around the corner from the original, has a more modern look but serves the same wonderful tapas.

Food and drink:

It offers simple traditional dishes. Two things I always love having here are the radishes (seriously, you have to try them) and the grilled mushrooms filled with a parsley alioli. Other favourites include the grilled salmon and solomillo. There are vegetarian friendly options available.

Ambience:

Relaxed and casual, I actually prefer this new location now because it feels a bit less cramped, though just like in the original one, the best place to eat is sitting at the bar.

Service:

It has good efficient service.

Location:

Across the Isabel ll bridge in Triana, it's about a 20-minute walk from the centre.

Price advice:

Tapas are very reasonably priced here from 2.80 euros and up. Main dishes cost from 8 euros.

Other useful branches:

The original location is just around the corner at Antillano Campos 26.
