Best for Value for money - Expert review of Eslava
Sixto Tovar runs one of the most popular tapas bars in all of Seville, which ends up on almost everyone's top five list. The reason is simply the top-notch tapas and unbelievably low prices, served up by efficient and friendly staff. Unless you get there right at opening time prepare to squeeze in elbow-to-elbow at the long bustling bar, as the five small tables at the back are sure to be full. But this is also part of the charm of the place and I've struck up many an interesting conversation with the people next to me at the bar.
Everything is good here and you know by the rate it all comes flying out of the kitchen that it's got to be fresh. Some of my favourite tapas include pork loin in dill sauce, breaded and fried mushrooms stuffed with chorizo and a delicate courgette charlotte. It is also vegetarian friendly.
It has cool blue walls and a cheerfully buzzy atmosphere.
There is excellent, fast and friendly service.
It is just outside the main tourist area, next to the beautiful Plaza San Lorenzo.
The tapas bar is the best value for money I've come across in Seville - you'd find it hard to spend much more than 10 euros a person here (for three tapas and two drinks). The restaurant next door costs about 40 euros a person including wine.
