Expert review of Sinfonía
This is world class gastronomy from the Italian, award-winning chef Andrea Benardi who currently holds the title of Spain's Top Chef by Addecco Hotel and Catering Management organisation. Every dish is a work of art in both culinary and presentational terms. I was in two minds whether to eat it or frame it, but it tasted even better than it looked. It's high style and perfection down to the last detail, even the plates display the elegant Sinfonía insignia.
It's Canarian cuisine like the Canarians have never seen. Top notch gourmet dining.
It's too pretentious for my liking but wannabe and actual food critics will love it. Mid week lunch times are business oriented and weekends see the Santa Cruz glitterati out in their finest.
It's quite formal and impeccable, with advice on dishes and on the extensive wine list and a few surprise wines which are not on the list.
On a pedestrian plaza, it's a five-minute walk from Plaza España and the trendy Noria district.
It's expensive by Tenerife standards but if this restaurant was in London you'd be doubling the bill, at least. Expect to pay 50 to 65 euros for three courses.
