Tasty Tenerife tapas in a charismatic courtyard.

This is a no frills tapas bar in a hidden courtyard dominated by a towering palm tree and bedecked with carved wooden balconies. Even teenage offspring of friends develop a taste for tapas when we eat at Bar Luis, it’s such a cool venue.

Food and drink: 

This is typical Tenerife tapas. They do main meals too but they’re disappointing.

Recommended dishes: 

The churros de pescado (fish croquettes) are in light, crispy herb batter and melt in the mouth.

Ambience: 

It's informal and relaxed.

Service: 

It usually involves a joke or two at your or their expense. Good fun.

Location: 

It's with two other restaurants in a courtyard off the main Plaza Charco in the heart of the town.

Price advice: 

Tapas average 3.50 euros per portion.
