A wonderful neighborhood spot with exceptional food.
With only 10 tables, this is a tiny restaurant with excellent food and a cozy atmosphere.
Food and drink:
The menu here is American meets Mediterranean: think plump juicy scallops on a bed of risotto, a perfectly cooked pork chop and a crispy soft-shell crab. There is an excellent and reasonable wine list with a good selection of half bottles.
Ambience:
I love how cozy this spot is although some might find the cramped quarters a little too intimate. On a cold winter night though there are few more atmospheric hangouts in the West Village.
Service:
Considering how excellent the dishes are, I am surprised by the unfriendly servers. If they improve the place will be even more popular.
Location:
On a lovely residential block in the West Village.
Price advice:
With some main dishes for US$13 (like a hearty risotto), I think the place is quite a good deal.
Tables to book:
Ask for a table in side room as the ones by the door are a little too close to other customers coming and going.
