Expert review of The Park
Hotel restaurants often get overlooked. It is a mistake. They are often wonderful places in superb locations. The Park is one of them – a soothing corner of central Milan in which to unwind after a long day’s shopping and sightseeing. Somewhere you can find interesting food, comfortable seats, a lack of pressure, and a great wine list. If, like me, you are travelling on your own, the waiters will even offer you something to read. Lovely.
Italian haute cuisine with bells on – the presentation was gorgeous, but I did wonder whether chef Filippo Gozzoli wasn’t trying slightly too hard. My cod on a bed of peppers, olives and capers looked superb but was slightly over salted. Having said that, I am still dreaming about the cinnamon and ginger ice cream.
Cool and calm, definitely a hotel restaurant, with well-padded seats and more of the mountain of travertine that is the signature of the Park Hyatt. Definitely a place for quiet discussion, not a rowdy night out.
Friendly and knowledgeable. It was quiet the night I was there and the waiters were eager to chat.
Right next to the Galleria Vittorio Enamuele II.
Expect to pay around 50-70 euros for three courses without wine.
